    VoiceXML Forum Platform Certification Program

    ORLANDO, Florida -- April 25, 2005 -- Voxeo Corporation, the leading provider of standards-based VoiceXML and CCXML IVR platforms, announced today that its Voxeo VoiceCenter v6.0 IVR platform has been awarded VoiceXML Forum Platform Certification.

    The Voxeo VoiceCenter platform passed more than 600 independently tested assertions in the VoiceXML Forum's VoiceXML 2.0 test suite, making it one of only five available VoiceXML certified platforms. Voxeo is the first company to offer the same VoiceXML certified platform for both hosted and customer-premise deployments, and the only company to have both a VoiceXML certified platform and a VoiceXML Application Developer certified support staff.

    As a result of the Platform Certification, Voxeo customers can be assured that VoiceXML 2.0 applications will be easily portable to and from the Voxeo VoiceCenter platform. New customers can move their applications onto the VoiceCenter platform without the pain and cost of rewriting or retooling the code. And, once their applications are deployed, Voxeo customers need not worry about the legacy trap of vendor lock-in that comes with other proprietary platforms. The formal test report, detailing the required and optional features tested, is publicly available on the VoiceXML Forum's website at http://www.voicexml.org/platform_certification.

As VoiceXML adoption continues to grow in enterprises and carriers, certification assists customers in choosing from a wide variety of vendors and deployment options to solve their particular business needs."

    The Voxeo VoiceCenter IVR platform incorporates Motorola's industry-leading VoiceXML 2.0/2.1 browser technology. Voxeo has worked closely with Motorola to create an IVR platform that is built on open standards, providing customers more power and flexibility than proprietary platforms.

    VoiceXML FORUM PLATFORM CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

    The VoiceXML Forum's Platform Certification Program consists of a test suite, test harness, and independent testing program. The progam certifies that implementation platforms pass all required tests in the VoiceXML test suite. The test suite is based on the W3C VoiceXML 2.0 Recommendation and the W3C VoiceXML 2.0 Implementation Report test suite.

    The program goals include:

    • Interoperability of platforms, voice service providers, tools, and applications
    • Clarify vendor implementation of language features and compatibility
    • A common test suite available to the entire industry
    • Certified 3rd-party independent testing

    Platform vendors can test their platforms against the publicly available test suite. VoiceXML Forum Sponsor and Promoter members have access to a test harness to assist in local execution of the tests.

    The certification program is managed and developed by VoiceXML Forum members and provides impartiality through the use of independent 3rd party test laboratories. CT Labs was chosen by the Forum to be the first independent testing laboratory to run the conformance tests.

    The VoiceXML Forum Certification Program is open to all vendors who wish to have their products tested.
